I appreciate the diverse experiences and backgrounds of the individuals I am privileged to counsel. I acknowledge how dimensions of culture including gender and orientation, ethnicity and race, ability, age, religion, and social status influence experience and relationships. I am respectful and compassionate. I recognize the impact of oppression, trauma, and injustice, and approach those affected with sensitivity. In my teaching and clinical work, I appreciate open communication and strive to create open spaces for discussion of difficult topics and advocate for change when access to resources is denied to those in need.
